Stanley #68 Marking and Mortise Gauge

I picked this up at a yard sale on July 22nd 2006 along with 18 other tools. I paid $10 for the whole bunch, so that means I paid about $0.50 for the gauge.

Here is a picture of the gauge as it looked when I got it. The picture is not the greatest as it was cropped from a picture of all the items I picked up from that yard sale.

Well, I polished up the brass, took a Scotchbrite pad and cleaned up the finish and then waxed everything and this is the result:

Came out pretty good if I do say so myself. I did a little searching on the internet and this gauge, in this condition, goes for $60-75. Not bad for a 50 cent investment.
